I remember just how quick my client wanted me to hear this song. When asking what they would like their painting done to, it was a matter of seconds before they started playing Self Control. The last minute and a half were the focus of the painting. The repetition and emotion coming from this track grows each time I hear it. For this piece, the whole song is great, but I focused on the part that haunts you the most.
When painting this song, it gave me the feeling of saying goodbye to someone who you knew so vividly but now you barely recognize them; almost as if you’re still living in the past. It’s the feeling of missing someone who just doesn’t seem to exist anymore, but yet you felt that they were so real to you.

I used a neutral gray base because this piece was for a professional setting. I then added the blue grey and scattered it to represent the guitar and violin of the song. The black sound waves represent the consistency of the lyrics :
“ I,I,I know you gotta leave leave leave..”
The silver represents the memory of you have of the person whom the song is about; scattered but bright enough to show.
